Original Wwii German Army Named Gas Mask CanisterYou are bidding on an original ww2 german gas mask and canister named to a german soldier. Both pieces hvae markings.
On the canister there is a d on the bottom. It has the numbers 1363 painted at the top edeg in white paint. Near the clasp it is marked fm42. Inside the lid it has a small door compartment that has a german eagle and 43.
Inside the compartment it has a spare lens pack in the original paper with german writing on it, see photo. On teh mask tank part it has the markings bydfe, and fe 41. On the mask part itself it has a 38 inside of a circle, the number 8 painted in white and lenses are dated 1938. The canister measures 10-7/8 high x 5 across.
The mask tank alone measures 4-3/8 wide x 2-1/2 high. The mask measures about 9-3/4 tall. Mask appears used or twice, maybe not at all as ti has no cracks or wear. Can is dent free, just has some surface rust. Name si on the gasmask strap. A great item is vrey collectable shape for your collection. Buyer to pay an additional $10.00 shipping. Paypal, checks and mnoey orders are welcome. On nov-12-08 at 172646 pst, seller added the following informationa gentleman asked to see a picture of the metal retainer ring in the bottom of the can. There was an old cotton cloth underneath it which probably protected the bottom of the mask over the years. Also a picture of the painted numbered on teh side of the can was requested.
